Harbor House

I recently came across the works of ErrĂ³, an Icelandic collage artist, displayed in the permanent collection of a gallery converted from an old harbor warehouse. But for me, it was the proximity of the dockyard, visible through a large picture window at one end of the museum library, which was most compelling in its interplay of appearances. As if to tether my line of sight to a bollard outside and force myself to carry the slack through the gallery, only alongside the labor of the sea could I grasp how combined forms paradoxically seem both emergent and fragmentary.
